Spencer and Nolan came to my home studio in Maple Valley, WA last month for an indoor holiday mini session. They were just the cutest with their big eyes and happy little smiles. I was thoroughly entertained by the "Paw Patrol" theme song I got continuously from mom and dad in order to get them to keep smiling! We had a great time!!

Baby Sam {Newborn Shoot}
I have the big honor of introducing my amazing little miracle... Samuel Harrison. This little guy came into the world on May 23rd weighing 8lbs 14oz. Words cannot express how complete my family feels now that he is here. Being a mom to 3 adorable boys is more enjoyable than I could have ever imagined. Of course I did his newborn shoot, with the help of the hubby seeing as I was recovering from a c-section, and I just adore them...

My Maternity Shoot
Being a professional photographer usually means you NEVER ever get to have nice photos taken of yourself. Even with the casual snap shots at holidays and family gatherings, I am never in any photos.
But, I am really trying to change that. And by that, I am doing my best to train my husband, Cameron, whenever possible on the new techniques I learn almost everyday as a growing photographer. Cameron does great at assisting, but gets a little nervous when I encourage him to take control over the camera. I think it's because of the pressure I put on him to do perfect.
So, I put him in charge of my maternity photos. I did the job of picking location, lighting, attire, posing, and even camera settings. All he had to do was focus the camera, somewhat direct, and shoot!!! It was definitely a team effort, especially since my boys weren't willing to cooperate 100%.
I am so pleased with the few good shots he got....

Baby Merrick {Newborn Shoot}
Not every newborn shoot goes perfectly, and Mr. Merrick Dean gave me quite the challenge. For such a young guy, he definitely knew how to run the show!! Didn't like being swaddled, lay on his belly, or even be out of mommy's arms.
But, we took our time and eventually got the shots we needed. My favorite simple pose of him...

Baby Abigail {Newborn Shoot}
Baby Abigail was born to a high school friend of mine and boy was she cute!!! I absolutely loved those cheeks and piercing eyes. She was just so perfect for me and didn't make a sound. Even when awake, she was ready to pose!!!

Baby Ezra {Newborn Shoot}
Introducing my first shoot of 2013... baby Ezra!!! Since this was my hubby's very best friend's first baby, I decided to drag him along to help. I needed it too because I am starting to get very pregnant! By the time I get things set up, I'm exhausted. So, his help was greatly appreciated.
Ezra's parents had a very special request, seeing as daddy was in the military and HUGE baseball fans. I love the shots we got...

Kellie & Brett {Maternity Shoot}
I always have the greatest time with this couple and they so happen to be family!! My sister is crazy sometimes, so she had the best idea of having us hike to an unknown location for her maternity shoot (both of us being pregnant). I'm glad our hike through the Claremont hills led us to this beautiful location and we rocked this shoot!!!

Reese & Regan {Twin Newborn Shoot}
I was beyond nervous for my very first twin newborn shoot. Any photographer knows how difficult this can be. Getting one baby calm and posed is hard enough... trying to do 2 at once seems impossible!!
Reese and Regan were adorable little baby girls. One was definitely more patient with me than the other, but the shoot went far better than I could have ever imagined. I wished I could have gotten more of them together, but mom and I were very happy with the results.

Baby Peyton {Newborn Shoot}
We didn't think baby Peyton was going to make it too much longer after the maternity shoot, but she managed to stay in for a couple more weeks. I was so happy to do her newborn photos and although she didn't like me much, we got some cute shots. I especially love when mom and dad want to take some with baby.... so special!!

Val & Addison {Maternity Shoot}
Mom-to-be did not think she was going to make it to the shoot, but we made it happen. And, she was absolutely breathtaking during those occasional contractions. I'm happy to say that she didn't end up going into labor by the end!! I can't wait for their princess to come!
